He’s been in the business of food for 30 years as a buyer, small business owner, chef, butcher and union activist. As our original lead meat cutter, he serves as a dedicated mentor to our growing team.
A Field Day for Ranching Education

In late January, we welcomed more than 20 ranchers to our Kauai ranching operations as part of the 2019 Hawaii Grazing and Livestock Management Academy, an educational outreach program of the University of Hawaii at Manoa College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources (UH/CTAHR) - Cooperative Extension. The “field day” was one part of the three-day program offered every few years across Hawaii to help new and existing ranchers learn how to improve pastures and grazing management.

If you had a choice between beef raised with antibiotics or without, which would you choose? Most people would prefer without, and some major brands are listening. McDonald’s, Wendy’s and Costco have recently released plans to reduce the amount of antibiotics in the meat they source.
